  • Yes, Folkestone is fabulous! The Kent coast has become very fashionable in recent years, and Folkestone has it all. The beautiful sea, nice cafes and bars, the amazing Creative Quarter, good sporting facilities, excellent schools – all within an hour of London. We love it here.

  • We’re downsizing. After 10 happy years in the house, we’ve decided to move to a smaller place in the area. The house is perfect for a family or couple looking for a stylish home with a stunning view.

  • Yes, the house has direct, uninterrupted views of the English Channel. In the words of our architect, it’s a million-dollar view! Its south-facing position looks over the sea and across the bay to Dungeness. On a clear day, you can see France.           

  • There are sea views from most of the rooms in the house. The full-width glazing in the open-plan living space gives a panoramic view of the water. The two bigger bedrooms upstairs are also sea-facing. The study/bedroom 4 also looks out to sea.                   

  • Radnor Cliff is one of the most desirable streets in Sandgate/Folkestone. Around 20 metres above sea level, the road occupies a unique position on the cliff. It has a range of stylish homes, from all different periods. The most prized homes on Radnor Cliff are sea-facing, like ours.                

  • There are three main bedrooms upstairs, and a fourth bedroom downstairs (currently used as a study). The storeroom by the utility space could be converted into a small fifth bedroom if required.

  • Yes, our house has a private right of way to the beach and promenade, down nearby steps. This is a wonderful resource, allowing quick and easy access for swims, walks and cycling on the seafront. This right of way is on the house deeds so will always exist.

  • Yes, we used Shoreditch-based AAVA Architects to redesign the house in 2018. A full-width rear extension was added, The rest of the house was modernised and reconfigured. This included new bathrooms, bedrooms, garage conversion, and a wonderful first-floor terrace.     

  • Yes, it’s a triple-tier garden facing the sea. We spend most of our time on the top level – eating, drinking and chilling out. The second level is for more private viewing. The bottom level is a secluded oasis. Architect drawings are available for a design upgrade if anyone’s interested.

  • About 8.7 million people live by the sea in the UK. The Kent coast has become very popular and the media regularly names Folkestone one of the best places to live. Folkestone and Sandgate are second-home hotspots, but most people just have their main residence here. Seaview properties like ours are highly sought after and command a premium price.
